The Adamawa State Police Command has deployed security personnel across strategic locations and critical infrastructures in view of the planned protest by the Ohanaeze Youth Council, OYC.
The command said the personnel had been briefed to maintain order throughout Monday, when the scheduled protest is set to hold.
“The deployment is part of the Command’s proactive measures to ensure the protection of lives and property, as well as the maintenance of law and order across the state,” the command said in a statement released Monday morning.
The statement, signed by the command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said it had, in collaboration with other sister security agencies, commenced a joint operation and show of strength across major routes and public areas.
“This is aimed at dominating the public space, deterring any form of violence or breach of peace and boosting public confidence in the state’s overall security architecture,” it explained.
