The State Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kaduna state chapter said that the ruling of the Appeal Court on March 9, 2026 which upheld the decision of the High Court by nullifying the convention which gave birth to the Turaki- led leadership, has further reinforced the internal discipline mechanism of the party.
Sir Edward Percy Masha, Chairman, Kaduna State PDP assured faithful teeming supporters that even though the verdict didn’t represent their aspiration, they are very much informed that a new vista has been opened where members of NEC and the BoT will assume leadership role to organize a NEC meeting where a Caretaker Committee will be set up to run the affairs of the party pending when a new National Working Committee will come on board.
“Suffice to say we have a big relief with the CoA ruling where it upheld the suspension of some former key officers of our party, the former Secretary; legal adviser, organising secretary & others.
“By this judgement, the same suspended officers who constituted and inaugurated the so- called Caretaker Committee can not stand as its foundation has been declared null & void,” it said.
The statement urged PDP members not to be despondent nor faint but to remain resolute and committed to the ideals of the party by continuing with the E-Registration Exercise that is ongoing.
