The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Adamawa State has chosen new executives across all 21 local government areas to lead the party at the grassroots level.
The executives were picked through a consensus arrangement agreed upon by party members to ensure unity and reduce disputes.
Speaking while monitoring the congress in Yola South, Yola North, and Gerei LGAs on Monday, the Chairman of the Adamawa PDP Local Governments Congress Committee, retired Hon. David Iorhembe, said he was pleased with how the exercise was conducted.
“I am satisfied with the large turnout and the maturity our members have shown today. The consensus option has really helped to unite the party and avoid unnecessary tension,” Iorhembe said.
He praised Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for his major achievements and forward-thinking leadership, saying they have improved the state and made the PDP more popular.
He encouraged party members to continue supporting the governor and to work together to secure victory for the PDP in the 2027 elections.
“PDP remains the party to beat come 2027, and with the unity we have shown here today, I am confident we will deliver,” he added.
