
The Gombe State Police Command has arrested three suspected kidnappers following intelligence received by security operatives in the state.
Security analyst, Zagazola Makama disclosed this in a post shared on X on Friday, stating that the suspects were arrested during an operation carried out by the police and local hunters.
According to the report, the suspects were apprehended on March 10 at about 10:00 p.m. after security operatives acted on credible intelligence.
“The suspects were identified as Mohammed Abubakar, 29; Mohammed Bello, 23; and Mohammadu Ali, 25. All three are said to be residents of Galda Village in Fika Local Government Area of Yobe State,” Makama wrote.
The report indicated that the suspects were allegedly planning to carry out a kidnapping operation in an undisclosed location in Bauchi State before they were intercepted by security operatives.
During questioning, the suspects reportedly admitted that they were preparing to carry out the kidnapping.
Authorities said investigations are ongoing to uncover more details about the planned operation and to identify any other individuals who may have been involved.
