A police officer died in a fatal accident on Third Mainland Bridge on Sunday.
The General Manager of the The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA),
Olalekan Bakare-Oki, confirmed this in a statement issued in Ikeja.
The crash occurred when a Lexus vehicle (EPE 765 JN) rammed into a police officer riding a Bajaj motorcycle on the bridge, inward Iyana Oworo.
He said: “The officer died on the spot. The driver of the Lexus reportedly turned himself in at Adekunle Police Division shortly after the crash.

“Following distress calls, LASTMA officials, in collaboration with officers of the Nigeria Police Force, arrived to manage traffic and begin emergency response.
“Traffic cones and safety devices were strategically placed to prevent further accidents, while police operatives documented the incident.
” Coordinated evacuation operations removed affected vehicles and restored normal traffic flow along Third Mainland Bridge.”
