The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has called for strict adherence to integrity and transparency in the ongoing recruitment of 50,000 Police Constables.
According to the statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Adebisi, the exercise, which has reached the Credentials and Physical Screening phase, is being closely supervised by a team from the Nigeria Police Force and the Police Service Commission.
Receiving the screening team at the Command Headquarters in Ikeja on 9 March 2026, CP Jimoh emphasised the importance of fairness and impartiality, noting that the credibility of the Nigeria Police Force and the Police Service Commission depends on the integrity of the process.
He urged the team to conduct the exercise according to established guidelines and to maintain the highest level of professionalism. He insisted that the team must stick strictly to the rules to ensure that only the best and most qualified candidates are selected.
“The integrity of the process reflects on the nation as a whole,” CP Jimoh stated
The screening team, led by Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP Adebisi Balogun, and Chief Administrative Officer of the Police Service Commission, Eleyinmi Akinola, assured the Commissioner of their commitment to following due process.
The team is working in closely with the Federal Character Commission and the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC) to ensure that the exercise is smooth and not compromised.
Applicants were told to be wary of anyone asking for money or favors in exchange for a spot in the force. Instead, they should focus on following their assigned schedules and bringing the correct paperwork.
“The screening exercise is absolutely free of charge. Applicants and members of the public are therefore warned to beware of fraudsters or individuals who may demand money or promise assistance in influencing the process.
They are advised to strictly adhere to their scheduled screening date and time and are required to come along with the following documents,” he said.
Required Documents for Screening:
Printed Invitation Slips
National Identity Number (NIN)
Educational Certificates
Birth Certificate
Completed Guarantors Form
Other relevant credentials
To avoid confusion, the command has instructed all applicants to visit the official recruitment portal
On the portal, candidates are expected to verify their current status and print out all necessary documents, including the Application Submission Slip and Screening Forms. These must be presented at the screening venue at the exact date and time assigned to each individual.
The Lagos State Police Command urged all applicants to comply fully with the guidelines to ensure a smooth and successful recruitment exercise.
