Security operatives in Niger State have foiled an attempted kidnapping in Mashegu Local Government Area.

The incident was disclosed in a post shared on X on Sunday by security analyst Zagazola Makama.

According to the post, the attempted abduction occurred in the early hours of Saturday, at about 2:00 am, when unidentified armed men invaded the residence of Alhaji Abdullahi in Kusoko village.

The attackers reportedly attempted to abduct two of his sons, identified as Abubakar Audu and Alhaji Saidu Audu.

Makama said the victims raised an alarm during the attack, forcing the assailants to abandon their mission and flee the area after inflicting injuries on the victims.

“The suspects abandoned the operation and fled, leaving behind a motorcycle and other items,” the post said.

Items recovered at the scene included a Houojoe motorcycle, two mobile phones, and a power bank.

The injured victims were rushed to Ibbi Health Care Centre, where they are currently receiving medical attention.
