Senate confirms Oyedele as junior finance minister

The Senate on Wednesday confirmed the appointment of Taiwo Oyedele as Minister of State for Finance.

The Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, announced the confirmation after lawmakers cleared the nominee through a voice vote at the Committee of the Whole.

President Bola Tinubu last week nominated the 50-year-old Economist as Minister of State for Finance.

Oyedele is expected to replace Mrs. Doris Uzoka-Anite, who has been redeployed to another ministry in the Federal Executive Council (FEC).
