Police on Wednesday arraigned seven suspects at the Kano State Magistrate’s Court in Nomansland for allegedly attacking traders at Farm Center Market in the state.
The suspects attacked the entourage of a prominent politician, AA Zaura, in the April 28 attack.
Police operatives arrested five suspects during the incident.
The spokesman for the state police command, Abdullahi Haruna-Kiyawa, who disclosed this to journalists in Kano, said the suspects were standing trial on a five-count charge of criminal conspiracy, inciting disturbance, joining unlawful assembly, armed with deadly weapons, and mischief.

He revealed that five suspects were arrested earlier and following discreet and intelligence-led investigations, the operatives arrested the two additional suspects.
He said properties, including a Toyota Ambulance vehicle and a tricycle were destroyed in the attack.
