
The South African Police on Monday, February 16, arraigned three suspects at the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court in connection with the kidnapping and murder of 22-year-old Plateau State student, Isaac Satlat, whose body was discovered on February 11.
DAILY POST had reported how the deceased who was also an e-hailing driver, was abducted and murdered by some passengers who had requested his service with his body and the stolen car later discovered in Atteridgeville in the Moshongo Province of Pretoria.
South African National Prosecuting Authority, NPA, spokesperson, Mumka Mahanja, who confirmed the development in a statement, said the three suspects identified as Dikeledi Tears Phela, Gositsiane Machidi and McClaren Mushwana, made a brief appearance before the Court on Monday morning and have been remanded in prison custody while the case was adjourned to February 23, 2026.
Mahanja disclosed that the trio is facing charges of murder and carjacking and are being detained at the SAPS Pretoria North Police Station, while the female suspect, Phela, is being held at the Kgosi Mampuru Correctional Centre.
The NPA spokesperson also disclosed that the accused persons abandoned their bail application during the court session.
“The three accused persons appeared before the court this morning. They are facing the charge of premeditated murder and related offences. In court, they opted to abandon their bail application and the matter was postponed to the 23rd of February for further investigations,” Mahanja said.
