Suspected herdsmen have k!lled a young man identified as Bem Gube, in the Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue State.  In a Facebook post on Monday, July 7, 2025, a childhood friend named Lazarus Hilejime revealed that Bem was preparing for the current National Examinations Council (NECO) exam prior to his death.   According to Lazarus, the incident happened last week when the deceased went to his village and was attacked by the roving herders, who killed him. "A Painful Goodbye to My Childhood Friend, Bem Gube. Im deeply heartbroken to share the tragic news of the d3ath of my childhood friend, Bem Gube. We grew up together at Nyor Gyungu near the International Market in Makurdi shared dreams, laughter, and struggles," he wrote.  "This year, Bem was writing his NECO exams at NAKA, the headquarters of Gwer West LGA. He had so much hope for the future.  Sadly, on Thursday last week, he visited his village a place he called home and was brutally k!lled by Fulani herdsmen. Its painful that a young life full of promise was cut short in such a cruel way. Rest in peace. Bem.
