The Lagos state Commissioner of Police, CP Moshood Jimoh, has claimed that there is no longer traffic robbery in Lagos state.  According to him, the use of unmarked patrol vehicles by men of the state command has reduced the rate of traffic robbery to zero in the state.  In an interview with The Cable, Jimoh saidYou know we have the traditional patrol vehicles marked in proper police colors except the ones used for logistic reasons. You will see the name of the police station, the numbers of the vehicles, apart from the plate number, the patrol signal number will equally be there so that where they are placed, if there is any infraction, you will be able to report to use and we will act on it,.Then we have vehicles classified as unmarked vehicles. For example, on the streets of Ikeja, if there are criminal elements there, the moment the patrol vehicle branded in police color with revolving light comes, they will go into hiding and once they leave, they will come out again.That is why if you are using unmarked vehicles, it will give the police operatives the advantage to be able to approach the crime scene easily to safeguard the life of the people. To make investigations much more easier, we appear in those unmarked vehicles so that people who commit crime, especially in trafficmany people will attest to it that traffic robbery ha gone to zero in Lagos. Even for those who attack people whose vehicles break down on the road, we go in unmarked vehicles and we present ourselves as if our vehicles has broken down the road and before you know it, once they come out we get them arrested.
