Activist politician, Omoyele Sowore, has given an update on the arrest of pro-Biafra agitator, Nnamdi Kanu’s brother, Prince Emmanuel, Special Counsel Aloy Ejimakor and other free Nnamdi Kanu protesters.
Sowore alleged that the Inspector General of Police, IGP, Kayode Egbetokun has ordered that they should be taken to an unknown destination.
Posting on X, he wrote: “This is the position of illegally detained #FreennamdiKanuNow at @FCT_PoliceNG command today, before the illegal IGP Kayode Egbetokun, ordered that they be relocated to an unknown destination and had the police attack us in front of the FCT command.”
The Nigeria Police Force, NPF, had arrested Prince Emmanuel, Ejimakor and others over the protest and were taken to the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Command CID.
Disclosing this via X, Ejimakor wrote: “We’ve just been arrested. Myself, Prince Emanuel and others. We are at FCT COMMAND CID. Myself, Fine Boy and others. No 1 Zaria Steeet, Gariki 2, Abuja.”
Ejimakor, activist politician, Omoyele Sowore, and others had spearheaded the protest demanding Kanu’s release.
The protesters who converged around the Maitama area of Abuja were dispersed by the police.
Sowore had alleged that the police shot at the peaceful protesters in a bid to disperse them.
