Tens of thousands of mourners filled State Farm Stadium on Sunday to celebrate the life of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, turning his public memorial into a powerful mix of Christian revival and political rally.
Kirk, founder of Turning Point USA, was assassinated 11 days ago during a campus event in Utah, shocking the American conservative movement.
His widow, Erika Kirk, delivered an emotional tribute, describing her late husband as a man of “unshakable faith and purpose” who inspired millions to embrace God and country.
“Charlie dedicated his life to Christ and to saving America,” she said to a crowd dressed in red, white, and blue, many waving U.S. flags and banners with the slogan Make America Great Again.
President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and senior members of the administration were scheduled to deliver remarks, signalling Kirk’s influence on the Republican Party and the broader conservative base.
The memorial featured fiery speeches from conservative leaders. Podcaster Benny Johnson credited Kirk with helping him overcome alcoholism and urged young men to follow Kirk’s call to “get married, build families, and live with purpose.”
“Did Charlie bring you closer to God?” Johnson asked, drawing a thunderous “Yes!” from the crowd.
White House adviser Stephen Miller vowed that Kirk’s death would strengthen the movement he championed.
“You have no idea the dragon you have awakened,” Miller declared. “We will fight harder than ever to save this civilization, to save the West, to save the republic.”
The event, organized by Turning Point USA, showcased Kirk’s enduring impact on U.S. politics, as mourners pledged to carry forward his mission of faith, family, and conservative values despite the tragedy of his death.
