TikTok personality and livestreamer Habeeb Hamzat, widely known as Peller, narrowly escaped injury after a fire outbreak at his Lagos residence in the early hours of Saturday, following a generator malfunction that ignited a blaze within the premises.
The influencer disclosed the incident via his Instagram page, posting a video that captured the moment flames engulfed the generator. In the footage, Peller appeared visibly shaken as he called for assistance while the fire intensified, illuminating parts of the compound in the pre-dawn darkness.
According to visuals from the scene, efforts to extinguish the blaze involved repeated attempts with buckets of water before the flames were eventually subdued. The generator was completely destroyed in the process, but no casualties were reported, and the main building structure appeared unaffected.
As of the time of filing this report, the exact cause of the fire had not been independently confirmed. It remains unclear whether the incident stemmed from fuel leakage, electrical fault, overheating, or poor ventilation—all common risk factors associated with residential generator use in densely populated urban areas.

The incident quickly gained traction across social media platforms, with fans expressing relief that Peller and other occupants of the residence were unharmed. The fire scare comes months after Peller survived a separate incident along the Lekki–Epe Expressway. During that episode, broadcast in a livestream titled “RIP Peller,” he was seen driving his Mercedes-Benz while visibly emotional, prompting widespread concern among followers at the time.
While Saturday’s incident ended without injury, it adds to a string of high-profile scares involving the influencer, reinforcing ongoing conversations around personal safety, emergency preparedness, and the responsibilities that accompany large online followings.
