Parts of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, witnessed a traffic bottleneck on Monday morning following the ongoing protest demanding the release of Nnamdi Kanu leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra.
Major roads in the nation’s capital were relatively shut down despite the presence of security personnel stationed at strategic areas.
The busy Kugbo‑Nyanya stretch of the Abuja‑Keffi highway witnessed a standstill as commuters were seen stranded.
Motorists heading into the FCT from the Kugbo/Nyanya axis report slow movement, with several lanes reportedly blocked by parked vehicles and protest‑related activity.
Police had dispersed the protesters, who planned to march to the Aso Rock Villa to demand Kanu’s release from the custody of the Department of State Services, DSS.
