Transfer: Arsenal to sign Valdepenas from Real Madrid

Arsenal are interested in signing Victor Valdepenas from Real Madrid.

Valdepenas made his senior debut for the LaLiga giants this season.

According to BBC Sport, Arsenal have seriously scouted the 19-year-old defender in recent months.

Internal discussions have taken place at the Emirates, but the Premier League side are yet to make a formal offer.

It remains to be seen whether Arsenal target the current transfer window or wait until the summer for Valdepenas should they decide to formalise their interest.

Valdepenas has a reported 50m euro (£43m) release clause in his contract.

He is a left-footed central defender but can also be used as a full-back.
