Troops working with local hunters have arrested a man accused of providing information to Boko Haram and ISWAP fighters in Damaturu Local Government Area of Yobe State.

Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the suspect, Alhaji Ibrahim, 42, was arrested around 3:05 p.m. on May 25 after intelligence reports linked him to alleged communication with terrorist members.

The suspect is said to be a vigilante attached to Government Girls Unity College (GGUC) in Damaturu. He is from Ahajiri village in Maisandari Ward of the local government area.

“Sometimes, the greatest threat to a community comes not from outsiders, but from insiders who betray their people by collaborating with terrorists and exposing innocent lives to danger,” Makama wrote.

Sources also said the suspect is currently being held by troops of sector 2 for further investigation.
