Truck crushes man at busy Benue junction

A tragic accident has claimed the life of an as-yet-unidentified man after a truck ran him over at Rice Mill Junction in Gboko Local Government Area of Benue State.

Residents say the busy junction is notorious for heavy traffic and frequent accidents involving trucks and other commercial vehicles.

Eyewitnesses reported that the incident occurred suddenly, leaving bystanders in shock. The victim was reportedly killed on the spot before any assistance could arrive.

Hiifan Zendesha described the scene as chaotic, with passersby gathering shortly after the crash.

“It happened so fast. The man didn’t stand a chance,” an eyewitness said.

When contacted to confirm the incident, the spokesperson of the Benue State Police Command, DSP Udeme Edet, said she had not been briefed about the accident.
