Turkey: What Icardi did was sensational – Osimhen hails Galatasaray teammate

Galatasaray striker, Victor Osimhen, has hailed teammate Mauro Icardi for his brilliant assist during their team’s title-winning game against Antalyaspor last weekend.

Recall that Galatasaray defeated Antalyaspor 4-2 to secure the league title.

Osimhen netted a brace, while Icardi produced a moment of brilliance, dribbling past two Antalyaspor players before setting up Kaan Ayhan for the fourth goal of the match.

Speaking to Galatasaray’s YouTube channel, Osimhen said, “What Icardi did was sensational. It was sensational; it shows how talented a player he is.

“When he did that dribble, it was like, ‘That is my captain.’ When he did that, I knew either he was going to go for the goal himself because I didn’t see Kaan Ayhan approaching at first, as I was celebrating Icardi’s dribble past two players.

“That moment was really unique. Then he saw Kaan moving and placed the ball.”
