Galatasaray striker, Victor Osimhen has said that their upcoming Champions League game with Manchester City will be a difficult one.
Osimhen and Erling Haaland, two of the best strikers in the world at the moment, will battle it out as both teams fight for the Champions League Round of sixteen spot.
Galatasaray drew 1-1 with Atlético Madrid in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night.
Osimhen also shared his thoughts about the game and his comeback to the team after taking part in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
The Super Eagles player was part of the starting team for Galatasaray and showed happiness about being back.
Osimhen told the club’s official website, “I really missed everyone, especially the fans, a lot. We knew before the game that we would face a tough team.”
He praised his team’s hard work during the match, adding “I want to praise my teammates for their effort during the entire 90 minutes; we played well against a strong team.
“The match was 50-50. We had opportunities to end the game in certain moments. I’m satisfied with how we played.”
Looking ahead to their next Champions League match, Osimhen talked about the difficulty of facing Manchester City.
“Manchester City is among the best teams in the world. We’ll focus on each game individually. We’ll start by focusing on the league, and then we’ll look at that game.
“It won’t be easy, but I believe in my team. I’m looking at it positively. We can get something out of it. The most important thing is to play a good game, just like we did against Atlético,” he said.
The 1-1 tie against Atlético Madrid means Galatasaray is still in a good position to get into the top 24 and qualify for the Champions League next round, depending on how other games go.
