Atletico Madrid manager, Diego Simeone has noted that Club Brugge missed midfielder, Raphael Onyedika during their UEFA Champions League Round of 16 playoff second leg tie on Tuesday.
Simeone watched as Atletico Madrid defeated Club Brugge 4-1 in Spain, with Onyedika missing.
The Spanish LaLiga giants qualified for the last-16 on a 7-4 aggregate win, having played a 3-3 draw in the first leg.
Onyedika, who scored a goal in the first leg, missed the return leg due to an accumulated yellow card.
Speaking after the final game, Simeone said at his post-match interview: “I like the team [Club Brugge]; they are young, with very good midfielders. “Onyedika was missing.”
The defeat means Club Brugge is out of the Champions League and will now focus on their next game against Charleroi in the Belgian Pro League this weekend.
