Chelsea manager, Liam Rosenior, has explained why Cole Palmer was absent from his matchday squad for their Champions League clash against Pafos.
Moises Caicedo’s late header sealed a 1-0 win for the Blues at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday night.
Rosenior has now claimed Palmer missed out due to tightness in his thigh.
But he also expressed optimism that Palmer will be fit again ahead of their Premier League fixture against Crystal Palace.
“Cole felt a little bit of tightness in his thigh,” Rosenior said.
“He just misses out, but he should be absolutely fine for Sunday.”
Chelsea now sit in eighth place with 13 points, occupying the final spot for automatic qualification into the Champions League last 16.
