Former Kaduna Central lawmaker, Senator Shehu Sani has again lashed out at President Donald Trump of the United States for threatening to impose 100% tariff on Canada.
In a post on his verified X handle on Sunday, Sani described the threat as unimaginable.
DAILY POST reports that Trump on Saturday threatened to impose a 100 per cent tariff on all Canadian goods entering the United States if Canada makes a deal with China.
Reacting, the former lawmaker said: “Canada is a sovereign,prosperous and peaceful country. It reserves the right to deal with China or any country of its choosing.
“The menacing threat against it by President Trump is condemnable.Its unimaginable that a supposed World leader of a democratic country is these days acting like a global despot.
“All lovers of freedom and advocates for international law must stand with Canada against the bully.”
