Founder and General Overseer of the Living Word Conquerors Global Assembly, Bishop David Abioye, has insisted that there is an ongoing Christian genocide especially in the northern parts of the country.
Bishop Abioye who made the assertion during the church’s end of the month prayer session in Lagos on Sunday, said as much as there are killings in different parts of the country for other reasons, Christians are being targeted because of their faith.
In a video shared on social media platforms, the clergy also blamed some Christian leaders who are busy selling a propaganda that there is no genocide in the country.
He noted that with factual information coming out where thousands of Christians are killed almost on a daily basis, there was no way the government can claim there is no genocide in the country.
‘There’s a lot of distortion going on, people claiming there is no genocide of Christians in the nation,” the Bishop said.
“Information with facts can never be thwarted. You see people buried in hundreds and you say there is no genocide. What a wicked set of people.
“Agreed there are other people being killed in other places fid other reasons, but this one is very clear.
“And gradually is eaten down to the South, South-West, South-East, and many so called leaders, for their personal interest, are claiming it’s not true, selling out their faith if they have it all.”
A cleric in Plateau State had last week countered the Federal Government’s claim on genocide against Christians in the country.
The cleric in a video posted on his social media channel insisted that there were deliberate efforts by fundamentalist groups to wipe out Christians in the North-Central state.
His remarks followed claims by the government on religious harmony in the country.
