The Oyo State Police command says it is investigating a viral video allegedly showing the behe@ding of one of the teachers abducted during last Fridays attack on schools in Oriire Local Government Area of the state. The spokesperson of the command, DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, disclosed this during an interview on Channels Television on Tuesday, May 19. The abducted teacher was among several victims k!dnapped by gunmen alongside students during attacks on schools in the Yawota and Esiele communities of Oriire Local Government Area. Days after the abduction, a video circulated widely on social media showing the beheading of one of the abducted teachers. Although Governor Seyi Makinde has confirmed the k!lling of one of the abducted teachers, the state government has not stated whether the victim was beheaded. Speaking on Channels TV, the police imagemaker said the police had commenced a detailed examination of the video while also engaging with the victims family. We have that video and we are still examining the video and investigating the intensity and fact in the video. Of course, the teacher has been identified as the mathematics teacher, but what we see on the surface is not enough. We are examining the video as well, and we have made contact with the family as well. he said    Ayanlade addressed questions surrounding the identity of the attackers and whether they should be classified as terrorists or bandits. On the issue of naming them, like I said, its an ongoing investigation, so I wouldnt want to preempt investigation in naming whosoever it is. Fundamental remains that they are criminals, whether they are terrorists or they are bandits. Whosoever they belong to, we would see to this and we will spare any of it'' Ayanlade said  The post We are reviewing alleged video of abducted teacher's behe@ding- Oyo police appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
