Former lawmaker, who represented Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Shehu Sani, has given the reason for influx of terrorists in Nigeria.
In a post on his verified X handle on Sunday, Sani attributed increased terrorism in the country to the security agreement between Russia and the Sahelian states.
DAILY POST reports that Nigeria has witnessed dozens of insecurity in the last couple of months.
The aftermath of the security situation has been a series of abductions of people including women and schoolchildren, where some were killed in the process.
Reacting, the ex-lawmaker said, “Since the security agreement and operation between Russia and the Sahelian states of Burkina, Mali and Niger Republic commenced, more terrorists from those countries forcefully relocated their bases to Nigeria.
“They should be denied any breathing space in our country by all means necessary.”
