A yet-to-be identified woman was arrested on Monday after allegedly firing multiple gunshots near the Los Angeles-area home linked to global music star Rihanna, authorities confirmed.
According to police, no injuries were reported in the incident, which occurred Sunday afternoon in the Beverly Hills area.
Los Angeles police spokesperson Officer Charles Miller said authorities responded to reports of shots fired near a residence. A 35-year-old woman was later taken into custody without further incident, and officers recovered a weapon at the scene.
The suspect has been booked on suspicion of attempted murder and is currently being held in jail on $10 million bail, police said. The district attorney’s office has not yet announced formal charges.
While police did not officially confirm the homeowner’s identity, several local media outlets reported the property belongs to Rihanna, the Grammy-winning singer and business mogul.
Public records show the Beverly Hills property is owned by a trust managed by Evan Jehle, a member of the advisory board for Rihanna’s Clara Lionel Foundation.
It remains unclear whether Rihanna was at the home at the time of the shooting.
Television station KABC-TV aired footage showing what appeared to be five bullet holes in the front gate of the residence.
Audio obtained by the station also captured a police dispatcher informing officers:
“Shooting just occurred. Ten gunshots fired from the vehicle.”
Authorities said the shots were fired from across the street, though investigators have not disclosed a possible motive.
Police have not yet confirmed whether the suspect had any connection to Rihanna or the property. The investigation remains ongoing as authorities work to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
