The family of 26-year-old banker, Osemudiamen Idemudia, has expressed deep concern over his unexplained disappearance while returning home from work in Lagos.

Osemudiamen, an employee in the Point-of-Sale (POS) department of a commercial bank, was last seen on the evening of Friday, May 9, according to his father, Mr Julius Idemudia.

Narrating the events leading up to his disappearance, Idemudia said his son had departed the bank’s Ikota branch with a colleague to attend a scheduled meeting with a senior official at the bank’s headquarters in CMS, Lagos Island. However, upon reaching the venue, they were informed that the meeting had been cancelled.

“After they got to CMS and parted ways, Osemudiamen was supposed to take a bus to Iyana Ipaja and then proceed to Igando, where he lives. But he never arrived home. When it got late and we hadn’t heard from him, we began to worry. After 24 hours, we raised the alarm,” the father said.

The family has formally reported the incident to the Igando Police Station, located near the Akesan area where Osemudiamen resides.

Idemudia further revealed that arrangements are being made to engage with the bank’s Chief Security Officer to support ongoing investigations into his son’s disappearance.

“This is completely out of character for him. We are extremely worried and just want to know that he is safe. Our hearts are heavy,” the father added.
