Abdoulaye Doucoure leaves Everton as a free agent

Abdoulaye Doucoure has confirmed his exit from Everton Football Club as a free agent at the end of the 2024/25 season.

The French midfielder confirmed his exit from the Merseyside club after he posted an emotional message to Everton supporters. According to him, it feels sad that he will be.leaving the club after five years following the moments that was shared with the fans.

He said,

After five wonderful years, my time at the club has come to an end. I am sad to leave but I think the time has come for a news chapter for me and the club. Everton means a lot to me. The past five years have been hard but I will always remember my time as a dream to play for the club. I will miss the fans and the club. I just want to let them know that I gave everything all the time and was always proud to wear the shirt and Goodison Park. I wish them all the best in the new stadium. I will forever be a blue.”

Doucoure played 165 times for Everton, scoring 21 goals, after signing from Watford for a fee of around £20million in 2020. Hej will now join Ashley Young, Asmir Begovic and Joao Virginia in leaving Everton at the end of the season.

Everton are yet to sort out the futures of other out of contract players, such as Idrissa Gueye, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Michael Keane are yet to be decided.
