Sultry Nollywood actress Omoni Oboli has taken to her social media account to address a recent movie script plagiarism claim against her made by a film producer.

The mother of three, in a post on her official Instagram page, shed more light on the claim made by Susan Jimah, who alleged that Oboli’s YouTube film has striking similarities with her own YouTube movie, which she titled ‘Hope Given’.

While apologizing for the incident and reaffirming her dedication to originality, Oboli clarified that the problem was caused by a script she had bought from a scriptwriter that had already been sold to another producer in 2022.

She further disclosed that the movie has been taken down from her YouTube channel and efforts are underway to engage the scriptwriter to understand exactly what happened.

“We know you’re probably wondering why the latest movie isn’t available anymore on the channel. We’ve received feedback that it bears a striking resemblance to another film on YouTube. As a channel committed to originality, we’ve decided to remove the movie while we investigate the situation.

‘‘We’ve engaged the scriptwriter to understand exactly what happened and are working closely with our legal team to resolve this. Thank you for your understanding and continued support. Always remember that I love you,” the actress wrote on her Instagram page.
