The Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC) has declared it is prepared for its planned local government election scheduled for June 13.
It said on Thursday that the election will hold across all 21 local government areas of the state.
The Commissioner of Public Affairs, Planning and Strategy of the commission, Zenald Zidon Love, reiterated during an interaction with newsmen in Yola that the commission has finalised preparations in line with the Electoral Act.
“All election materials are ready, ad-hoc staff have been recruited, and security agencies have been fully integrated into the process, including the screening of candidates,” Zidon Love said.
He added that a joint meeting with security agencies is scheduled for June 8, 2026, at the ADSIEC Secretariat to finalise security arrangements.
The timetable for the council election shows that electioneering campaigns, which officially began on May 1, 2026, will end on June 11, 2026, while results are expected to be declared between June 13 and June 14, 2026, with a rerun, if necessary, slated for June 20.
The ADSIEC spokesman confirmed that 11 political parties have been cleared to participate in the polls, among them the Young Progressive Party (YPP), New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), and Social Democratic Party (SDP).
The others are the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP), African Democratic Congress (ADC), All Peoples Party (APP), All Progressives Congress (APC), Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Boot Party (BP), and Accord Party (AP).
