Canadian-American rapper Drake has for the third time filed a lawsuit against Universal Music Group (UMG) for failing to stop the release of Kendrick Lamar’s song ‘Not Like Us’, which portrayed the him (Drake) as a paedophile.
Drake has filed a federal lawsuit against Universal Music Group for disseminating the “false and malicious narrative” that he is a pedophile, according to TMZ.
Per Drake’s fresh court filings, UMG was aware that Lamar’s diss single would feature lyrics and visuals from a music video that called him a pedophile.
He claims that because the song was a “gold mine” for the business, UMG permitted the “inflammatory and shocking allegations.”

Recall that in court papers filed last November, Drake accused UMG and Spotify of conducting a “campaign to manipulate and saturate the streaming services and airwaves” with Lamar’s diss song.
He went on to claim that by publishing the song, UMG had selected one of their artists over another by funding and carrying out a scheme to use consumer panic to make the song a viral mega-hit single, which would have destroyed his career and generated enormous profits.
“UMG’s choice to saturate the music market with ‘Not Like Us’ comes at the expense of its other artists.” Artists like Drake, the petition went out of its way to note. “As Drake is Petitioner’s sole owner, and Petitioner owns the copyright to Drake’s entire catalogue, Petitioner suffered economic harm as a result of UMG’s scheme.”
