Former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili, on Friday, congratulated the suspended Kogi Central Senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan over the court judgment ordering her recall back to the Senate.
Ezekwesili said the court judgment was a testament that such an injustice against Natasha cannot stand.
The Abuja Federal High Court on Friday, frowned at the Senate’s suspension of Natasha for six months due to her sexual harassment allegations against Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
Justice Binta Fatima Nyako, who nullified the suspension, charged the Senate to recall Natasha.
The judge held that Natasha’s suspension was a violation of the Constitution, adding that it also denied her constituents adequate representation.
Reacting, Ezekwesili charged the Senate to rewrite its wrong.
Posting on X, Ezekwesili wrote: “Distinguished. Senator. Natasha. Akpoti- Uduaghan @NatashaAkpoti
“Congratulations! Today is a great Day to remind all of us of your unforgettable words:
“This Injustice will not be Sustained. Thanks for modeling the strength of will that Citizens in a Democracy must possess to push back on abuse of power by those who occupy public positions.
“Congratulations to your admirably loyal Kogi Central Senatorial Constituency who have been unconscionably and unconstitutionally been denied representation.
“Now the @NGRSenate should swiftly right the wrong and injustice done them. You inspire.”
