A middle-aged man was apprehended by residents of Aratunsi Street, off Bolajoko, in the Oke Aro area of Akure, over alleged burglary and an attempted r3pe.  The suspect, whose identity is yet to be confirmed, was said to have broken into a residence occupied by young women around 4:30 a.m. on Monday, June 30, 2025 with the intent to steal and allegedly assault the occupants.  According to eyewitness accounts, the intruder was caught after the victims raised an alarm, drawing the attention of local youths who swiftly mobilised and apprehended him at the scene.  He was reportedly tied to an electricity pole with a rope as residents awaited the arrival of security operatives.  The suspect claimed to be from Ekiti State, though no official confirmation has been made.  At the time of filing this report, security agencies were yet to make a formal statement regarding the incident.  The post Akure residents nab suspect for for alleged burglary and attempted r3pe appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
