Akwa Ibom: Police rescue 7 pregnant women, 5 infants from illegal maternity home

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Timfon John, made this known in a statement in Uyo on Friday. John said that the illegal maternity home was uncovered based on credible intelligence while a woman who was the proprietor of the home was also arrested. She said the rescued women were under protective care, while investigations were ongoing to uncover other collaborators, and ensure justice was served.
