Arizona inmate crawls past guard with 'plan to assault female inmate'

A male inmate at a Maricopa County jail in Arizona was caught on surveillance cameras sneaking past a security guard into the female section of the facility, reportedly with the intent to sexually assault a female inmate.  The incident occurred in April, with Justin Avery, who was already facing charges for allegedly sexually assaulting five women near Arizona State Universitys Tempe campus, at the center of the disturbance. According to court documents obtained by ABC15, Avery was seen crawling past a security guard at 4 AM in the intake facility. Described as sneaking "like a spider," Avery allegedly admitted that he was drawn to a female inmate and planned to assault her.  Once inside the womens section, Avery reportedly dropped his pants behind a sleeping inmate. His actions were interrupted when another female inmate spotted him and screamed for help, prompting a security officer to intervene.  Avery has since been slapped with an additional count of sexual assault and is expected to appear in court next week. The incident has raised questions about the facilitys security measures and the oversight of inmates in custody. The post Arizona inmate crawls past guard with 'plan to assault female inmate' appeared first on Linda Ikeji Blog.
