Liverpool's head coach, Arne Slot has given an update on the fitness of Trent Alexander-Arnold and Allison Becker ahead of this weekend's game against Southampton.
Liverpool have started this season (2024/25) as a house on fire since Arne Slot took over the managerial role of the club. Allisson Becker and Trent Alexander-Arnold will be out of the trip to the Saints. According to him, both players will be out of the game against Southampton on Sunday, November 24, 2024, and the UEFA Champions League game against Real Madrid.
For Allison, he said
"I don’t expect him to be fit for Real Madrid game. We are careful with everyone especially when it comes to muscle injuries. He's back in training with the goalkeeper coach, not with team yet but that is expected soon”.
For Trent, he said,
"Trent Alexander-Arnold isn't training with us yet but he is getting there so we expect him to be back with us soon”.
The Dutchman also spoke about the decision of Pep Guardiola to extend his contract with Manchester City. According to him, it is good news to see the Spaniard remain the Premier League.
The Reds have been in impressive form this season leading the Premier League table and the UEFA Champions League table. The club's supporters will hope that the team will continue in this same form from now until the end of the season.
