Nigerian stand-up comedian and movie producer Ayo Makun, popularly known in entertainment circles as AY, has taken to social media to express disappointment and frustration over a lack of support from male colleagues in the film industry.

The humour merchant, in a post shared on his X page (formerly Twitter), said that he works so hard to stay relevant and take care of his responsibilities without any support.

AY, who was reacting on the backdrop of the release of his movie ‘The Waiter,’ bemoaned the fact that males only ever support female artistes in the movie industry, suggesting that they (men) only ever value looks more than skill and effort.

“One day man go tell a man “wetin man do man”. We work so hard to stay relevant and take care of our responsibilities. Must we have breasts and yansh to have the support of our fellow men?

“I am still the only man left in the business of filmmaking who is yet to give it all up. The waiter is a beautiful movie. I will continue to personally push it with my full chest in cinemas nationwide. I am too legit to quit”, he wrote on X.
