Bandits kill, injure, kidnap residents in Katsina community

Tragedy struck on Saturday night when armed bandits invaded Gobirawa community in Dutsin-Ma Local Government Area of Katsina State, killing several residents, injuring many others, and abducting an unspecified number of villagers.

According to a post shared on Sunday by Katsina-based security analyst, Bakatsine, on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the attackers stormed the village under the cover of darkness.

“Last night, bandits invaded Gobirawa community in Dutsin-Ma LGA, Katsina State. They killed multiple people, injured several others (now hospitalized), kidnapped residents and set many shops ablaze during the invasion,” Bakatsine wrote.

The exact number of casualties remains unclear. As of the time of filing this report, authorities in Katsina State were yet to issue an official statement.
