The Bauchi State Infrastructure Development and Maintenance Agency (BASIDMA) has ordered the immediate removal of all illegal billboards and campaign posters mounted on streetlight poles and public structures across the state.

Director-General of the agency, Engr. Abdulrahman Mai-Auduga, who gave the directive warned that the enforcement team would not hesitate to pull down all unauthorised billboards and posters if those responsible failed to comply.

He said the measure is part of the state’s ongoing urban renewal and regulatory cleanup initiative “The proliferation of illegal billboards and posters across major locations in Bauchi has become a serious environmental and aesthetic concern. This operation is part of efforts to sanitize the city and address unauthorised structures that distort our urban outlook,” Mai-Auduga stated.

Also speaking, the Managing Director of the Bauchi State Physical Planning and Development Authority, Dr. Ibrahim Muhammad, urged residents to comply with existing physical planning laws and regulations.

“Every citizen has a duty to respect physical planning guidelines designed to promote public safety and environmental protection,” he said.
