Arise TV anchors, Reuben Abati and Ojy Okpe, almost clashed on TV this morning November 22, over his story about Igbos not selling land to other indigenes It all started yesterday November 21 when Abati shared the story of how a former Minister of Information, T.O.S Benson, who had an Igbo wife and daughter had intended to build a house for himself in the East but was unable to achieve this as he was told by his Igbo inlaws that they do not sell land to non-indigenes.Chief TOS Benson, former Minister of Information now late, on one occasion at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, said something about Igbo people. He said he had an Igbo wife and an Igbo daughter and that he wanted to buy land in Igbo land for his wife and daughter. He said that his In-laws told him that they do not sell land to outsiders.'' Abatis story generated a heated debate online. While some Nigerians affirmed the claims of the said Minister, others, particularly Igbos, discredited it saying it is a lie and that persons from other tribes and regions purchase lands in the South East and have built homes in the region. This morning during their show, Ojy asked Abati for his reaction to the backlash he received from a section of social media users who believe the story he shared attempted to use a single story to paint a whole tribe bad. Abati was not having it and he did not hide his anger and displeasure. Watch the video below View this post on Instagram A post shared by Lindaikejiblog (@lindaikejiblogofficial) The post
