Chelsea manager, Enzo Maresca has provided the latest update on midfielders Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia ahead of his side’s FIFA Club World Cup tie quarter-final tie with Palmeiras.
Maresca’s side will take on Palmeiras in the last-8 fixture on Saturday after beating Benfica in the Round of 16.
Speaking at his pre-match interview, the Italian said Caicedo is currently suspended.
He also revealed that Lavia had a problem in Chelsea’s last game, adding that the player’s fitness is not clear.
“We aren’t sure if Romeo Lavia can be fit,” Maresca said. “He had a small problem at the end of the last game [against Benfica].
“It’s just a muscle problem. Tomorrow we’ll see if he’s fit.
“Otherwise, we’ll need to find a different solution because Moises Caicedo is suspended.”
