The Social Democratic Party (SDP) has recorded a major political gain in Madobi Local Government Area of Kano State, the hometown of NNPP national leader, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, as a large number of youths have defected from various political parties—particularly the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP)—to join the SDP.
According to Comrade Isah Saidu Kwankwaso, chairman of SDP in Madobi, the wave of defections signals increasing public acceptance of the party’s vision and agenda.
“The high number of youths joining us shows that people are beginning to understand the mission of the SDP, which is focused on rescuing society and promoting sustainable development,” he said.
Comrade Isah further disclosed that the party’s objective is to unite all wards and political structures in Madobi under the SDP umbrella ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“We are hopeful and confident that, God willing, every political party in Madobi will soon embrace the SDP,” he added.
The development comes as the SDP intensifies efforts to expand its national influence, particularly through youth mobilization and the promotion of a new vision for credible and ‘inclusive leadership.’
