A 60 years old man popularly known as Alhaji Kayo has been rescued from kidnappers by officers of the Ekiti State Amotekun Corps.
Alhaji Kayo resides at Ara Ekiti in Ijero Local Government Area of Ekiti State.
The Head of Communications Department of the Ekiti State Amotekun Corps, Adeleye Abiodun Adewale, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday.
The statement said, “On Sunday, 17th of November, 2024, the Ekiti State Amotekun Corps rescued a 60 years old man, popularly known as Alhaji Kayo was abducted from his residence at Ara Ekiti in the Ijero Local Government Area of the state by a gang of kidnappers.
“The Amotekun operatives from lrepodun/Ifelodun Command said a woman who was shot by the kidnappers, but was later rushed to the hospital in lgede-Ekiti for medical treatment.
“Luck ran against one of the suspects, a 30 years old Alfa Ahmed, a native of llawe-Ekiti, as he was apprehended by the Amotekun operatives of lrepodun/lfelodun Command while he was fleeing with his colleagues on a motorcycle at Awo-Ekiti during a night patrol.”
The statement added that the suspect has since been handed over to the Police in lgede Ekiti for further investigation.
