A suspected thief has died in Aba, Abia State while attempting to vandalize a power installation.
The incident happened in the Ogbo Hill area.
It was gathered that residents woke up on Monday morning to see the man dangling on top of the electric pole, with one of his legs still entangled by the cable.
Some residents claimed that the suspect may have climbed the power installation during a power outage after midnight with the intention of stealing cables.
According to the Ogbo Hill residents, the sudden restoration of power supply led to his immediate electrocution and death.
The management of the Aba Power LTD and the police are yet to issue official statement about the incident but many residents city who spoke on the development claimed they would not sympathize with the victim as he was trying to destroy a public facility.
However, a few others said that thorough investigations should be done by concerned authorities to determine how the man died.
