New Manchester United manager, Ruben Amorim, has reportedly identified the club’s former left-back Alvaro Carreras as a player he would like to work with at Old Trafford.
Amorim was recently appointed as Manchester United’s head coach following the sacking of Erik ten Hag last month.
The 39-year-old will make his debut in Man United’s match against Ipswich Town in the Premier League on Sunday, November 24.
The Portuguese is expected to make additions to strengthen his squad.
However, according to CaughtOffside, Manchester United plan on signing a left-back in the January transfer window.
The report added that Carreras and Chelsea’s Ben Chilwell are two players being considered by United.
Carreras moved to Man United in 2020 and was promoted to the first team in 2022.
He had loan spells at Preston North End and Granada before joining Benfica on loan in January 2024.
