Ex-Manchester United midfielder, Nicky Butt, has claimed that Frank Lampard could be a serious option at Chelsea, as pressure continues to mount on Liam Rosenior.
Between 2019 and 2021, Lampard enjoyed an 18-month spell in charge of the Blues.
The 47-year-old is currently in charge of Coventry City, who sit nine points clear at the top of the Championship.
At Stamford Bridge, Rosenior has endured the hardest week since he arrived in January, losing four games in a row in all competitions.
The results saw Chelsea eliminated from the Champions League by PSG and now sitting in sixth place on the Premier League table.
“It wouldn’t be a stupid thing to go and get Frank Lampard back in charge of Chelsea for me. He’s done a great job at Coventry,” Butt said on The Good, The Bad & The Football podcast.
“He’s got a bit more experience now and he probably made a few mistakes the first time around.
“He would be a totally different manager now. I think Lampard would find it easier working with better players, it would be easier for him to get his messages across to more technical players.”
