Former Manchester United midfielder, Owen Hargreaves was all praise for youngster, Kobbie Mainoo’s performance in the 2-0 Premier League home win over Tottenham Hotspur over the weekend.
Following Spurs captain, Cristian Romero’s dismissal for a challenge on Casemiro, the Red Devils made their numerical superiority count, with Mainoo’s flick-on off a Bruno Fernandes corner flicked on by Bryan Mbuemo in the 38th minute breaking the deadlock.
The second goal took some time to arrive, with Fernandes getting on the scoresheet nine minutes from time to make it four wins out of four for the Red Devils in the league.
Enjoying a rare league start, Mainoo made his outing count, delivering four key passes, one cross, 56/61 passes in the opposition box, four recoveries and six ground duels (as per Sofascore) before getting subbed off in the 89th minute.
Hargreaves duly acknowledged Mainoo’s contribution, sayng on TNT Sports (via Stretty News):
“I’ve never seen him have a bad game. I can’t believe how talented he is. He looks like he’s playing in the park with his mates,” the former Bayern Munich midfielder said.
In 16 outings in the Premier League this season – starting four – Mainoo is yet to score but has delivered two assists, with his first coming in the 3-2 win against Arsenal last month.
