Liverpool winger, Mohamed Salah, has posted a farewell message to Trent Alexander-Arnold after the defender confirmed he would be leaving at the end of the season.
Alexander-Arnold has rejected a new contract with his boyhood club and is set to join Real Madrid on a free transfer.
The 26-year-old has been with the newly-crowned Premier League champions since he was six.
Since coming through the academy, Alexander-Arnold has won eight major honours with Liverpool.
The England international described his imminent exit as the “hardest decision of his life” and stressed that he will continue to support Liverpool, despite playing elsewhere.
Salah has formed a strong partnership with Alexander-Arnold on the right side of Liverpool’s attack over the past eight years and chose to reflect on the good times on Monday.
“It’s been a pleasure sharing a special friendship with you and playing alongside you. I wish you the best and I am sure we will meet again,” he posted on Instagram alongside a succession of photos of the two of them playing together for Liverpool.
Alexander-Arnold replied with two love heart emojis and the words “big bro”.
